HIGRADE MEDIA CONSULT SIGNS NEW MANAGEMENT DEAL WITH IWAN

The C.E.O of Higrade Media consult Mr. Qwabena Addo who is known in the creative industry, especially in the hiplife and dancehall fraternity as Blaze has come publicly to say he is yet to see or meet an artiste who has such humility as Iwan.

Blaze who tops as a creative director in an interview with Flex newspaper and flexghana.com over the weekend said, aside Iwan’s Jah given talent, he is one humble artiste whose humility is unparalleled in the music industry. “You know when you work with a couple of artistes during events and stuffs like that, you get to know how artistes behave, how difficult it is to handle them but Iwan who is now under the management of Higrade Media Consult is someone who is subject to changes, humbles himself to listen, and approaches business as it is and that is how come he became the lead artiste under my management” he disclosed.
He admitted there’ve been a lot of issues surrounding Iwan but it is very different how you see things when you are close to the person or an indoor person and the public’s point of view. “Yes issues will come as long as you remain an artiste and I even believe if they don’t talk about you, that makes you nobody. You shouldn’t expect all issues to be positive. Along the way you face the negative ones as well but as management, we have to make sure that most of the issues that come up are going to be positive. We only see the bad news as a challenge to move on with whatever we are doing. We are all prone to mistakes and stand to be corrected when necessary. The most important thing is how we capitalized on our weakness and move on,” he said.
He further explained that Iwan’s Gideon Force still exists as his record label but he is under a new management which is Higrade Media Consult, a management company owned by Qwabena Addo and not Samini’s High Grade Family. They are two different companies all together. He also disclosed there are a lot of projects coming up from their camp as part of structures and measures to push the brand Iwan this year. He revealed the artiste has a whole lot of deals that he has to sign with some companies. Aside the music videos and photo shoots they are promoting on social websites, they are also going to embark on a regional and an African tour this year.
The regional tour is coming up to touch down and interact with the ordinary Ghanian people, the ghetto youth just as we’ve all known Iwan to be doing. “Like I said, he is with a new management now and there are a lot of projects in the pipeline that perhaps time and space wouldn’t allow me to touch them one by one but all I can say is for Ghanians to expect more from Iwan this year and also appreciate reggae and dancehall music in Ghana,” he stated.
You can follow Iwan on Twitter @higrademedia and also log on to their website on www.higrademedia.com

SNOOP LION IS A FRAUD – BUNNY WAILER

Snoop Lion (the artist better known round here as Snoop Dogg) is sending off some real bad Rastaman vibrations. The hip hop star’s peculiar turn as a reincarnated reggae star has raised the ire of some in the Rastafarian culture for its lack of authenticity.

Bunny Wailer — an original member of Bob Marley and the Wailers — is at the forefront of a movement to get Snoop to come clean about his recent infatuation with the Rasta culture. Bunny and members of the Ethio-Africa Diaspora Union Millennium Council believe that the “Gin and Juice” rapper was exploiting the marijuana loving culture to help sell his docu-movie, Reincarnated, and the accompanying reggae-influenced album.

The group, which also refers to themselves as the Rastafari Millennium Council, issued a 7-page demand letter to the multi-platinum hip hop superstar. They believe that Snoop “abused” the access they granted him throughout his time in Jamaica. Therefore he is now “forbidden from portraying, representing, endorsing or associating” himself with the Rastafarian community, culture, history or religion.

Along with dropping the “Lion” from his name, they also want him to make financial restoration for his “fraudulent behavior.”

If Snoop Dogg does not meet the many demands, one of which is a public apology, they are threatening further legal action.
